Rift: Lord Greenscale
Lord Greenscale is the final boss in Greenscale’s Lair. Greenscale is a giant dragon with over 4 million hit points. Greenscale has three main phases, a ground phase, an air phase and a final phase. Phase one consists of a simple tank and spank plus DPS avoidance. This fight requires one raid member to be designated as ‘plant killer’. This person will pick up a debuff that allows them to deal instant death to the plants. Throughout this phase Greenscale will spawn plants on raid members that deal damage over time. These must be avoided. Greenscale also has a timed breath that must be healed through or have two tanks switch off tanking. At timed increments Greenscale will enter his air phase. During this phase it is still possible to melee Greenscale if you are directly under him. Adds will also spawn at the opposite end of the room. These need to be picked up and DPSed down. The large add cannot be killed and will only die when the 4 smaller adds are killed. When the large add dies, it will drop a large AoE that all raid members must stand in. Anyone caught outside this AoE will be killed by Greenscale’s breath. Additionally, if any adds are not killed Greenscale will absorb them and heal a significant amount. After the breath, Greenscale will land and resume phase one. This second time a second set of plants will spawn, colloquially known as ‘mushrooms’. These must be avoided because they will explode after a set duration and knock back any raid members within it’s radius potentially knocking them in front of Greenscale or into another plant. Again at 25% Greenscale will enter an air phase. This is the same as the previous two air phases. After this phase Greenscale will again land and resume phase one. This time however a third set of plants will spawn: bracken. Bracken will sap any raid members within it’s radius of mana and energy. These must be DPSed down. At around 20%, many many wisps will spawn which need to be DPSed down by ranged DPS. This is not a DPS race as the wisps will easily overwhelm the raid if not controlled.
