I reworked the wallpaper page that was previously at /windpapers/ to allow for quicker visual scanning of each wallpaper. I’ve also added over 50 new ones to bring the total up to over 100 wallpapers specifically sized for the MSI Wind, or any other of the 10″ screen netbooks. Eventually I will be putting up wallpapers in 1680×1050 and additional 1024×600 wallpapers.

Over at the MSI Wind.net forums, a prize pool is being set up for an experienced OS X coder to develop native drivers for the wifi and sound card.  The wifi card is a Realtek RTL8102E PCI-E, and the sound card is Realtek High Definition Audio, not sure which chip. (More on that here.) The pool’s currently up to about $250.  Easy bucks for an Apple hacker.

A rudimentary way to overclock the new MSI Wind ‘netbook’ has been discovered by MSIwind.net forum member harmakhis.  Apparently MSI’s new netbook has the same PLL code as its P35 Platinum motherboard.

Using setfsb 2.1.69.2, and the ICS9LPRS906CGLF generator one can adjust the FSB of the Wind’s motherboard.  An average stable overclock is about 133->~150, an increase in clockspeed of about 150mhz.
